Herbie

Herbie is the big brother and best friend we all wanted in high school. He is handsome, athletic, smart and has a genuinely good heart. He makes friends easily and will be the first to join in on a new game, as well as the first to find a cozy spot on a warm bed for a relaxing nap. Herbie has strong instincts and sees cats and small critters as fuzzy chew toys so a home that is dogs only is needed. If you are looking for a dog with movie star looks, loves to play and has a beautifully noble character then waste no time in applying to adopt Herbie! He is ready for his loving forever home; help his people find him by sharing his handsome face and tagging friends in the comments! Thank you!

Herbie is a ~ 3-year old, 60 lbs  Shepherd/Hound mix.  He is being fostered in New Paltz, NY. He is a very active dog; and needs lots of exercise (and not in a dog run or park with other dogs), he is NOT a couch potato, so he needs a home with a 6-foot fenced backyard and active, engaged savvy dog humans.  His foster mom says : “He is completely housebroken, can follows basic commands; sit, stay, come.  He will sit and await permission before eating. He loves walks and requires a lot of exercise, I usually walk him about 4 miles a day.  He is affectionate in his own way. He will put his nose right in your face and just stay there!  He will also put his head in your lap or push it into your hand when looking for attention. Herbie doesn’t love the car because he hasn’t experienced it very much.”  Herbie needs a home without small dogs, cats, or children.  His ideal home would have another confident, friendly, playful dog friend as a role model because he is a bit shy and will need to adjust.  Herbie is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

The adoption fee is $500.  We require a 6-foot fully fenced yard and not an invisible fence.
